If you're a skilled Boilermaker who's done with the same sites, same commute and same weekly grind — this could be the change you've been waiting for.
Tradestaff Global is registering Expressions of Interest from experienced BOILERMAKERS with commercial or industrial experience for upcoming work on a remote Pacific Island location.
Some projects will move fast. Others are being planned further out. Either way, we're building a pool of proven tradespeople who are ready to go when the time comes.

THE ROLE:

This is a hands-on Boilermaker position focused on the repair, refurbishment and maintenance of multiple diesel boilers and associated equipment including pipes and pumps.
You'll be working on the tools in a remote island environment, with work spanning:
  • Repair, refurbishment and maintenance of diesel boilers and associated equipment.
  • MIG and TIG welding and fabrication work.
  • Working in confined and tight spaces as required.
  • Maintenance and repairs on existing structures and systems.
  • Working as part of multi-trade teams in remote, logistically complex environments.

You'll need to be adaptable

HOW IT WORKS:

These are FIFO-style deployments. You work intensively on site during your rotation, then head home for a proper break before the next swing.
Indicative rotation options could include:
  • 4 weeks on / 2 weeks off
  • 4 weeks on / 1 week off
  • 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off
(Final schedules are project-dependent and will be confirmed closer to mobilisation.)

Expect full-time hours on site — remote project delivery is full on, with long days and potentially no days off during your swing. But the time between rotations is yours to do with as you please.

THE TRADE-OFF THAT MAKES IT WORTH IT:

This isn't a Monday-to-Friday job — and that's the point.
You work hard while you're on site, but the time off you get back you can use to:
  • Be present for family — school pickups, holidays, the everyday stuff.
  • Tackle those home projects you keep pushing back.
  • Fish, surf, travel or just properly switch off.
  • Reset before the next swing — not just recover.
For the right person, FIFO isn't a sacrifice. It's a smarter way to structure work around life.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Relevant Boilermaker qualifications, licences and tickets (proof required at interview).
  • Strong MIG and TIG welding and fabrication experience.
  • Commercial or industrial project background.
  • Referees who can validate your experience.
  • A great work ethic, flexible attitude and solid common sense.
  • Exceptional fitness — it's hot, humid and physically demanding.
  • Comfort working in confined spaces and remote environments.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment checks: medical, drug & alcohol, and police.
  • A New Zealand Passport.
WHAT'S ON OFFER (Project dependent)
  • Return flights from major NZ airports.
  • On-site accommodation and meals provided.
  • Travel insurance and logistics support.
  • PPE supplied.
  • International project experience for your CV.
  • Backed by an experienced offshore project team.
A FEW THINGS TO KNOW
  • This is an Expression of Interest — no confirmed start dates at this stage.
  • You must hold a New Zealand Passport,
  • You must be permanently and currently based in New Zealand,
FIFO in the Pacific isn't just another job. It's a different way of working — and living.
