Ready for a project that takes you somewhere different?

Tradestaff Global is seeking expressions of interest from experienced Site Project Construction Managers for upcoming construction project work across the Pacific.

This role will suit someone who is confident leading remote overseas projects, managing site teams and keeping work on track through strong planning, communication and practical leadership.

ABOUT OUR CLIENT:
Our client is an established Pacific-based construction and infrastructure contractor delivering civil, commercial, utilities and social infrastructure projects in remote island environments. They have a strong track record of working with local communities, government partners and project teams to deliver practical, high-quality outcomes.

From early-stage planning through to final delivery, they take on challenging projects where precision, experience and technical know-how matter.

As their presence in the Pacific continues to grow, they are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to help support key projects in this evolving region.

THE ROLE:

You’ll be responsible for leading project delivery, working closely with site teams, subcontractors, clients, consultants, local companies, local trades and wider project stakeholders.

The role includes:
  • Leading day-to-day site and project operations.
  • Managing trades, subcontractors and site teams.
  • Coordinating project schedules, resources, materials and site logistics.
  • Monitoring safety, quality, productivity and programme delivery.
  • Reading and interpreting plans, drawings and project documentation.
  • Managing project reporting, communication and documentation.
  • Supporting problem-solving across technical and logistical project challenges.
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, project teams and key stakeholders.
  • Helping drive successful delivery from site setup through to completion.

This role will suit someone who is practical, organised and confident making decisions in a remote project environment where communication, planning and follow-through are critical.

WHAT’S ON OFFER:

This is a permanent 2-year FIFO opportunity for an experienced Project Manager / Construction Manager.

For the right person, this is a chance to:
  • Lead meaningful construction and infrastructure project work offshore.
  • Gain Asia-Pacific project leadership experience.
  • Build your CV with remote project delivery experience.
  • Work with an established civil and infrastructure contractor.
  • Lead site teams, subcontractors and project stakeholders in a remote environment.
  • Take on challenging work where your leadership and decision-making genuinely matter.
  • Work on an expected 8 weeks on / 2 weeks off roster, with FIFO travel from New Zealand.
  • Receive support through the recruitment and onboarding process.
This is not your standard local project management role. You’ll be working in a remote Pacific Island environment where logistics, planning, communication and practical leadership are just as important as technical construction knowledge.

Full salary, travel, accommodation and employment details will be discussed with shortlisted candidates.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager, Construction Manager or Senior Site Manager who is confident leading construction work in remote, high-output environments.

You will need:
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager, Construction Manager or Senior Site Manager.
  • Project Manager/ Site supervisor Qualifications.
  • Strong civil, infrastructure and/or commercial construction experience.
  • Experience managing trades, subcontractors and site teams.
  • Strong understanding of site safety, quality and programme delivery.
  • Ability to read plans, manage documentation and follow project processes.
  • Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills and practical common sense.
  • Confidence making decisions in a site-based role where priorities can change quickly.
  • A practical leadership style and the ability to keep work moving safely and properly.
  • Flexibility, resilience and the ability to adapt to changing project conditions.
  • Good fitness levels for hot and humid work conditions.
Previous experience working in remote locations, offshore projects, Pacific Island projects or FIFO-style environments would be highly regarded.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Before applying, please note:
  • This is a permanent 2-year FIFO role.
  • The expected roster is 8 weeks on site / 2 weeks off back in New Zealand.
  • Tradestaff Global is recruiting on behalf of the client.
  • Candidates must hold a current New Zealand Passport.
  • Candidates must be currently and permanently based in New Zealand.
  • You must be genuinely open to long-term FIFO work from New Zealand.
  • You must be comfortable working in a remote Pacific Island environment.
  • You must be able to pass pre-employment checks, including medical, drug and alcohol, and police checks.
  • A full Class 1 NZ Driver Licence is required.
Overseas FIFO project work is not just another job — it is a different way of working, leading and delivering.
